Melanie Fulop is a 30-something, married woman who lives in Ottawa, Canada and who obviously loves to read. This is her first attempt at any sort of blog that focuses more on
what she's read than on what she
wants to have written. Having finally come to the conclusion that she does not
have the patience, nor the creativity, nor the intent the words to ever express herself accurately, she decided to simply keep track of those novels that have peeked her interest in this here blog... if only so she can review the list after a few months and gloat over how much of other people's creativity she's managed to cram inside of her own head.
In other words... This whole exercise is pretty much all for my own benefit... But I would love to see your thoughts on any books that we've both read, comments on what I blurt out, or any suggestions for future reads.
Meanwhile, let's start this blog off with just the perfect literary cliché... a quote by some well known author, who's likely dead, but who's words still resonate to this day...
"Literature adds to reality, it does not simply
describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life
requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts
that our lives have already become." ~ C.S. Lewis
