|The Walking Dead|
An epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe, causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. In a matter of months, society has crumbled: There is no government, no grocery stores, no mail delivery, no cable TV. Rick Grimes finds himself one of the few survivors in this terrifying future. A couple months ago he was a small town cop who had never fired a shot and only ever saw one dead body. Separated from his family, he must now sort through all the death and confusion to try and find his wife and son. In a world ruled by the dead, we are forced to finally begin living.
I'm not really here to review this... I just wanted to say that I'm surprised that it took the TV series nearly two episodes to discover something that the graphic novel explained pretty much right off the bat.
Therefore, it was rather humorous to me (and likely to anyone else who had read the comics) to see all the commotion across the different forums (blogs, Facebook, Twitter) upon waking this morning.
To quote a few:
"OMFG! My brain exploded!"
"WTF? Did you SEE that?"
"Holy crap - shit just got serious."
Dudes... Seriously? Who did you think they were talking about in the title? :P
It's days like this that I'm glad that I'm such a voracious reader... That way, I'm ahead of the game when these things come out on the TV or at the movies.
That is all.
